4 Task Force Baghdad Soldiers Killed

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Four Task Force Baghdad Soldiers died May 24 in two separate incidents in central Baghdad.

In the first, three Soldiers were killed when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device exploded near their convoy at 1:30 p.m. In the wake of the blast, Iraqi Police immediately responded to help secure the site.

About 30 minutes later, another Soldier at an observation post was shot in a drive-by shooting.

That Soldier later died of his wounds at a combat support hospital.

The names of the Soldiers are being held pending notification of next of kin and the incidents are under investigation.
