           The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

            Sgt. Anthony J. Davis Jr., 22, of Long Beach, Calif., died April 23 in Mosul, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his Stryker military vehicle.  Davis was assigned to the 1^st Battalion, 24^th Infantry Regiment, 1^st Brigade, 25^th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.
