            The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

            Spc. Manuel Lopez III, 20, of Cape Coral, Fla., died April 12 in Baghdad, Iraq, when his HMMWV was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade.  Lopez was assigned to the 3^rd Battalion, 7^th Infantry Regiment, 3^rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Ga.
