
Six detained by joint search in Hawija
TIKRIT, Iraq – Task Force Liberty and Iraqi army Soldiers detained six individuals in Hawija April 27 after coming under attack from an improvised explosive device and small arms fire earlier in the day.
The Soldiers responded by conducting a joint search of houses in the eastern part of Hawija. Three of the detained individuals are suspected of emplacing IEDs and the other three were detained for weapons possession violations. No Task Force Liberty or Iraqi army Soldiers were injured in the search or the earlier attacks.
