RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, April 26 (RIA Novosti) The US-Georgian summit on May 10 will not have a direct impact on the upcoming withdrawal of Russian military bases from the Georgian territory, announced Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili.

The US and other Georgian partners support the withdrawal of Russian bases from Georgia. It has become pronounced especially after the Istanbul summit," Zurabishvili stated during a RIA Novosti press conference on Tuesday.

She said that the US supported Georgia on various occasions, helping it to make progress in the talks with Russia and reach the results, although its actions did not imply interference in the negotiation process.

"Our talks with Russia are bilateral," the Georgian foreign minister stressed.
