BAE SYSTEMS Awarded U.S. Navy Contracts In Excess Of $56 Million

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- BAE Systems was recently awarded two U.S. Navy contracts with a total value of more than $56 million as a prime contractor to provide technical services in support of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport (NUWCDIVNPT). Both SeaPort-e contracts were awarded by the Naval Systems Sea Command (NAVSEA), Washington, D.C., with the vast majority of the work being performed by BAE Systems employees in Newport, R.I.

Under the first contract, valued at more than $49 million, BAE Systems and its subcontracting team will provide research, development, test and evaluation support to the NUWCDIVNPT Engineering, Test and Evaluation Department including the Towed Array Test and Evaluation Facility (TATEF). This award continues BAE Systems support of these projects and programs that began in 1984.

The second contract valued at more than $7 million provides engineering and technical services to the NUWCDIVNPT Special Projects Office. BAE Systems and its subcontracting team will provide engineering and technical services to the Special Projects Office in their role as Technical Design Agent and Acquisition Engineering Agent, in the areas of operations support, concept analysis, system level design and development, integration testing, installation support, documentation, training, performance evaluation and logistics support. This awarded continues BAE Systems support of these projects and programs that began in 1992.
