Iraq Explosions Kill 12; Wound 32

A series of explosions has rocked the Iraqi capital and other parts of the country, killing at least a dozen people and wounding more than 30 others.
Officials say nine Iraqi soldiers were killed and 20 other people were hurt when a car bomb exploded near a National Guard convoy. That attack occurred near the Abu Ghraib prison on the western edge of Baghdad.
Earlier, another car bomb blew up near an American patrol on the road to Baghdad's airport. At least one Iraqi was killed and 10 other people were wounded, including three American soldiers.
Meanwhile, to the south, near Basra, a car exploded, killing its two passengers and wounding two Iraqis. It was not immediately clear if the car was carrying the bomb.
