BERMET AKAYEVA'S ARRIVAL IN KYRGYZSTAN REGARDED AS PROVOCATION
BISHKEK, April 14 (RIA Novosti, Yulia Orlova) - The coalition For Democracy and Civil Society regards Bermet Akayeva's arrival in Kyrgyzstan as a provocation aimed to destabilize the situation in the republic. The coalition issued a statement to this effect in Bishkek on Thursday.
Askar Akayev's daughter Bermet returned to Bishkek and attended a session of the Kyrgyz parliament. Her arrival was unexpected both to parliamentarians and journalists.
The coalition For Democracy and Civil Society comprises representatives of different parties and movements of Kyrgyzstan. The coalition observed the course of parliamentary elections in the republic.
Akayev's elder son and daughter won seats in the parliamentary elections held prior to the power shift in Kyrgyzstan on March 24.
Bermet Akayeva's victory in the second round of the elections was contested by her rival, acclaimed journalist Bolotbek Maripov. The court is considering the case.
