RIA Novosti

MOSCOW, April 12 (RIA Novosti) - Kyrgyzstan has confirmed its commitment to its obligations within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Eurasian Economic Community (Eurasec), Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a consultation between the president and the Cabinet.

While reporting on his meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Roza Otunbayeva, the minister said, "They highly appreciate Russia's assistance, are satisfied with the visit by the SCO Secretary General, interested in the SCO's active role in stabilizing the situation and have confirmed Kyrgyzstan's commitments to its obligations within the framework of the CSTO and Eurasec."

He pointed out that Kyrgyzstan is preparing for CIS arrangements in Moscow. "We confirmed that we are ready to consider Kyrgyzstan's specific requests and render assistance on both the bilateral and international bases," Lavrov said.

The minister also remarked that after their visit to Bishkek, experts of the Ministry of Emergencies and the Ministry of Agriculture developed and partly implemented the program of aid to Kyrgyzstan. "The second part of issues is being elaborated and concerns mostly sowing and reconstruction work," the foreign minister underlined.

Meanwhile, an aircraft of the emergencies ministry set off for the capital of Kyrgyzstan from the Moscow region's Ramenskoye airdrome to deliver humanitarian aid on Tuesday morning.

"An Il-76 transport plane will deliver 60 spacious tents and two mobile power plants to Bishkek," the press service of the ministry of emergencies reported.

The source said it is the second flight over the last few days. On Sunday an Il-76 was reported to have brought 210 spacious tents and four mobile power plants to Bishkek.
