RIA Novosti
BISHKEK, April 11 (RIA Novosti) -The Kyrgyzstan Supreme Court acquitted Ar-Namys party leader Felix Kulov Monday of economic crimes allegedly committed when he was Mayor of Bishkek and the governor of the Chui Region.
Last week, the Supreme Court acquitted Kulov of criminally exceeding his official powers while National Security Minister.
No appeals are allowed in either case.
The hearing in the economic case began April 7. After lunch, the court moved to adjourn until Monday.
This is the second time a criminal case was brought against Kulov, who was sentenced to prison for 10 years in 2000.
It was considered following an application by the Kyrgyz prosecutor general in connection with a message sent by the UN Human Rights Committee to the government of Kyrgyzstan. It recommended reconsidering the criminal case against Kulov.
