Task Force Baghdad Soldiers capture
terrorists, arsenal
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Task Force Baghdad Soldiers conducted an
early-morning raid of several objectives in south Baghdad April 4,
resulting in the capture of nine terrorists, weapons and bomb-making
materials.
One of the captured terrorists is the leader of a terror cell and
another of the detainees is suspected to be an improvised explosive
device engineer for another terror organization.
"Anti-Iraqi Forces have taken a major hit here," said Lt. Col.
Clifford Kent, a Task Force Baghdad spokesperson. "Through continued
cooperation from the public, Iraqi Police and the Iraqi Army, combined
with Task Force Baghdad Soldiers, we are stopping violence at the
source, before it spills into the streets."
During the raid, the Soldiers also confiscated materials used for
recruiting and training terrorists.
The names of those detained are being withheld until the investigation
is complete.
