BAKIYEV SETS UP COMMISSION TO STABILIZE KYRGYZSTAN

BISHKEK, April 4 (RIA Novosti, Yulia Orlova) - On Monday acting President and Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev signed a resolution setting up a state commission to stabilize the country.

According to the Kyrgyz presidential press service, the commission will include representatives from the state government, the country's parliament and five representatives of each of the republic's most influential political parties and non-government organizations.

They will be instructed to carry out a comprehensive study of the public and political situation that followed the March 24 developments. The commission will also work out a series of measures to strengthen civil accord in society, and to further stabilize the situation.

The press service also said that the judicial decisions made under ousted President Askar Akayev would be revised in Kyrgyzstan.

Bakiyev ordered an investigative operational commission to be formed "for additionally checking the validity and legitimacy of earlier-made decisions at the stage of investigation, and for submitting, if necessary, corresponding materials" on the most significant cases to judicial bodies.

The republic's acting prosecutor-general, interior minister and FSB chairman were charged with the commission's formation.
