
U.S. C-130 Crash Reported During Training Mission in AlbaniaAmerican Forces Press Service |
WASHINGTON, A EUCOM news release said the crash reportedly occurred in a remote, mountainous area east of the Albanian capital of Tirana, and that search crews are making their way to the area. No report was yet available on the status of those aboard. The C-130 has been the Air Forces tactical airlift workhorse since 1959. Basic and specialized versions of the aircraft airframe perform a diverse number of roles, including airlift support, Antarctic resupply, aeromedical missions, weather reconnaissance, aerial spray missions, fire-fighting duties for the U.S. Forest Service and natural disaster relief missions. |
