TF Baghdad Soldiers, Iraqi Police destroy car bomb

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Task Force Baghdad Soldiers assisted Iraqi Police in detonating a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device shortly after 6 a.m., March 26, in south central Baghdad.

The suspicious vehicle was first reported by Iraqi police around 3:30 a.m. after they saw a man park the car then walk away without returning. The police contacted Task Force Baghdad because there had been other VBIEDs in the area in the past.

A U.S. explosive ordnance disposal team was called to the site and later destroyed the vehicle with a controlled detonation.

The incident is under investigation.
