POST-AKAYEV GOVERNMENT TO BE ANNOUNCED IN KYRGYZSTAN BY END OF FRIDAY
BISHKEK, March 25 (RIA Novosti) - A new Kyrgyz government will be formed before the end of Friday and approved on Saturday, said Altai Borubayev, speaker of the upper chamber of parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
According to Kyrgyzstan's constitution, the upper house approves the prime minister and the cabinet.
"Consultations are currently being held in the commissions. The government structure will be the same. I think the core of the new cabinet will be formed before evening," he told journalists.
He said that on Saturday the parliament would start a name vote on the candidates.
"The voting procedure will take place tomorrow. It is necessary to prepare ballot papers and technical documents," the speaker said.
According to available information, the post of Kyrgyzstan's foreign minister may be filled by one of the opposition leaders Roza Otunbayeva, that of Interior Minister, former prosecutor-general Maktebek Abdyldayev, and the Defense Minister, parliamentary deputy Ismail Isakov.
