ASTANA, March 24 (RIA Novosti) - Kazakhstan is willing to render whatever assistance Kyrgyzstan may need, reassures Kasymzhomart Tokayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
"Kazakhstan is sincerely interested in promoting settlement in Kyrgyzstan," he said. The Foreign Minister hopes the Kyrgyz nation will find a worthy way out of its trying situation, in compliance with the Constitution and the acting national legislation.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan had, within the previous suspense-laden days, frequent telephone conferences with Askar Akayev, his Kyrgyz counterpart, and with leaders of other CIS countries. He kept in contact, on diplomatic channels, with the USA, other Western partners of his country, with China and the OSCE, added the minister.
