BAE Systems Receives Contract for Navy Radar Warning Receiver Components
23 Mar 2005
LANSDALE, Pennsylvania -- BAE Systems recently received a $4 million contract for follow-on production of the U.S. Navy's ALR-67(V)3 radar warning receiver system components.
The work will be done at BAE Systems facility in Lansdale, Pennsylvania.
The ALR-67(V)3, a fourth generation radar warning receiver (RWR) system for the U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft, improves aircrew survivability through enhanced detection and identification of hostile radar emissions. The system, a major component of the Super Hornet's Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) set, has been deployed in a number of operations, most recently during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
"We're very proud to be part of the team that is supplying the ALR-67(V) 3 RWR system that protects our aircrews, enabling them to successfully complete their missions," said Bob Witmer, BAE Systems program manager.
Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, Goleta, California, awarded the contract which calls for the delivery of Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs) for 30 radar warning receivers, spares and support equipment. Under the contract, options create the potential for delivery of up to 140 WRAs valued at $8 million.
