TF Baghdad Soldiers detain nine, find
weapons cache
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Task Force Baghdad Soldiers brought nine
suspected terrorists into custody March 20 in north Baghdad shortly
after an improvised explosive device exploded between two vehicles
on patrol.
No one was injured in the attack.
Soldiers at an observation post saw a man drop a device and run to a
getaway vehicle. The Soldiers followed the vehicle to a town nearby
and saw five men exit the truck and run into houses. After cordoning
off the area, the Soldiers searched the houses and detained the five
men from the truck and four other suspects in the houses.
The Soldiers also found a weapons cache in one of the houses, and
confiscated four artillery rounds, three AK-47 rifles, one shotgun,
two propane tanks and two car batteries.
The Soldiers took the nine suspects into custody and safely
detonated the munitions.
