TF Baghdad Soldiers detain nine, find weapons cache

BAGHDAD, Iraq
- Task Force Baghdad Soldiers brought nine suspected terrorists into custody March 20 in north Baghdad shortly after an improvised explosive device exploded between two vehicles on patrol.

No one was injured in the attack.

Soldiers at an observation post saw a man drop a device and run to a getaway vehicle. The Soldiers followed the vehicle to a town nearby and saw five men exit the truck and run into houses. After cordoning off the area, the Soldiers searched the houses and detained the five men from the truck and four other suspects in the houses.

The Soldiers also found a weapons cache in one of the houses, and confiscated four artillery rounds, three AK-47 rifles, one shotgun, two propane tanks and two car batteries.

The Soldiers took the nine suspects into custody and safely detonated the munitions.
