HEAD OF CHECHEN STATE COUNCIL TO SEEK CLOSING OF SEPARATIST WEB SITES
MOSCOW, February 25 (RIA Novosti) - Chairman of the Chechen State Council Taus Dzhabrailov will seek closing of separatist web sites.
These web sites provide perverted and false information confusing people and affecting the process of Chechnya's restoration, Mr. Dzhabrailov said at a press conference in Moscow on Friday.
Speaking about the rumors of the wedding of a separatist leader, Mr. Dzhabrailov said, "I cannot confirm or deny this. This man has physical and financial possibilities to get married. But I am not sure that it is true."
In the opinion of the Chechen State Council's head, the meeting between representatives of the committee of soldiers' mothers and separatist envoy Akhmed Zakayev in London will not influence the situation in Chechnya.
"Neither Zakayev, nor representatives of the committee have any influence on Basayev," Mr. Dzhabrailov stressed adding that it was another PR campaign of Ichkeria's leaders.
"No contacts can influence the situation in the republic," he noted.
According to him, neither Maskhadov, nor Basayev (leaders of Chechen separatists) do not influence the situation in the republic because they are commanded by Arab mercenaries. Therefore, negotiations with militants are useless, he said.
