19 suspects Detained Outside of Eastern Baghdad Mosque

Baghdad, Iraq -- A joint operation conducted by Task Force Baghdad Soldiers and Iraqi Army troops last night near the Al Rasoul Mosque in eastern Baghdad netted 19 suspected insurgents and various weapons.

Members of the 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, attached to the 1st Cavalry Division's, 1st Brigade Combat Team, set an outer cordon on the area at about 8 p.m. on Jan. 25. American troops did not enter the mosque. The operation lasted slightly more than an hour.

Nineteen suspects were taken into custody for further questioning. Additionally, the Soldiers captured 15 AK-47 assault rifles, four 9 mm pistols and four PKC machine guns.
