One Detained Following Explosion

Tikrit, Iraq - One suspected insurgent was apprehended following an explosion west of Tikrit at about 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 23. First Infantry Division Soldiers from Task Force 1-18 Infantry reported the explosion was caused by a hand-thrown improvised explosive device. The detainee tested positive for explosives residue and was transported to a Multi-National Forces detention facilities for processing.
