Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Forces Joint Operation
Camp Echo, Iraq - On the morning of January 9, in village Imam, three kilometers north of Al-Mashru in Babil Province soldiers from 1st Battle Group (1 BG) from 1stt Brigade Combat Team (1BCT) of Multinational Division Central - South (MND CS), and United States Military Police along with Iraqi National Guard (ING) conducted a joint cordon and search operation to find illegal weapons, caches and ammunition. They launched that action in order to prevent terrorist attacks in the MND CS area of responsibility and to secure stability for Iraqis in the Babil Province.
As a result of the operation eight individuals have been detained by Iraqi Police.
The list of confiscated weapons and ammunition includes: 54 Kalashnikovs (AK-47) with approximately 1,000 rounds of ammunition).
No personnel were wounded during the operation.
Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Forces are prepared to fight to make Iraq safe. We will continue to use precise, deliberate, force to defeat the enemies of Iraq.
