Ten Insurgent Suspects Detained at Traffic Control Point in Eastern Baghdad
Baghdad, Iraq -- Task Force Baghdad Soldiers detained 10 suspected insurgents at 2 p.m., Jan. 17, as they maintained a traffic control checkpoint in eastern Baghdad.
The Soldiers became suspicious when an approaching ambulance turned on its lights at the last second and attempted to bypass the checkpoint, along with its four vehicle escort. Soldiers stopped the ambulance and the four vehicles, finding three assault rifles. All five vehicles were detained and 10 Iraqis were detained for questioning.
