
Iraqi Man Leads Marines to Weapons Cache
Forward Operating Base Kalsu, Iraq - An Iraqi man flagged down a group of Marines patrolling south of Baghdad Jan. 15, and led them to a small weapons stockpile.
The Marines, assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, followed the man to a field near Haswah, where they found eight 152-millimeter artillery shells.
Information provided by local citizens has proved instrumental in joint efforts by U.S. and Iraqi forces to disrupt insurgent activity in northern Babil province.
