Iraqi Security Forces, Multi-National Forces Detain 13

-- Multi-National Forces from 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), and Iraqi Security Forces detained 13 people wanted for anti-Iraqi activity during operations in northern Iraq on Jan. 12.

While conducting cordon and search operations, Soldiers of the 102nd Iraqi National Guard detained three people wanted for anti-Iraqi activity in the village of Shekan. The suspects are in custody with no ING injuries reported.

At a checkpoint east of Mosul, Iraqi National Guard Soldiers stopped a vehicle that had been fleeing Multi-National Forces after firing a mortar round at them earlier. The driver was detained with no ING or Multi-National Forces injuries reported.

Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 8th Field Artillery Regiment, detained three people suspected of anti-Iraqi activity while conducting cordon and search operations south of Al Hatra. The suspects are in custody with no Multi-National Forces injuries reported.

Soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, detained three individuals while conducting cordon and search operations in southeast Mosul. The suspects are in custody with no Multi-National Forces injuries reported.

Soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, detained two more people suspected of planting roadside bombs while conducting cordon and search operations in Hamam Al Alil, acting on a tip from an Iraqi citizen. The suspects are in custody with Multi-National Forces injuries reported.

Soldiers of the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, detained another individual while conducting cordon and search operations in eastern Mosul. The suspect is in custody with no Multi-National Forces injuries reported.
