Airborne Troops Discover Large Weapons Cache
Mosul, Iraq -- Multi-National Forces from 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), discovered a cache of weapons and munitions in northern Iraq on Jan. 11.
Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 325th Parachute Infantry Regiment, were patrolling northwest Mosul when they discovered a cache of weapons, munitions and bomb-making equipment. The cache included 12 rifles, multiple assorted bomb fuses, wires and detonators, three rocket-propelled grenade launchers, 11 mortar rounds, 17 assorted grenades and more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition.
The weapons, munitions and bomb-making equipment were confiscated and destroyed.
