Marines capture militants planting roadside bomb
Forward Operating Base, Kalsu, Iraq -- Marines of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit caught two insurgents attempting to emplace a roadside bomb south of Baghdad on Jan. 10.
When the two men saw the Marines, who had just begun a patrol, they jumped in their car and tried to flee. The Marines stopped the vehicle and detained the men.
Earlier, Iraqi soldiers and elements of the 24th MEU captured two suspected insurgents in a raid near Iskandariyah.
Marines and Iraqi security forces in northern Babil Province continue operations aimed at disrupting insurgent activity.
