5 Iraqi Police, 8 Others Wounded in VBIED Attack

-- Five Iraqi police officers were killed and eight others, including Iraqi police, Iraqi National Guard soldiers and civilians, were wounded when anti-Iraqi forces detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in Baqubah on Jan. 5 at about 4:05 p.m.

Two Iraqi police officers and three ING soldiers were evacuated to a Multi-National Forces medical facility for treatment. Three civilians were treated at the scene.

The driver of the VBIED was also killed in the blast.

The Iraqi police are investigating the incident.
