ONE IST ID SOLDIER KILLED, ONE WOUNDED IN OPERATION NEAR AD DULUIYAH
TIKRIT, Iraq -One 1st Infantry Division Soldier was killed and one was wounded in an operation near Ad Duluiyah on Jan. 21 at about 2:10 a.m. The Soldiers were conducting a raid to kill or capture known anti-Iraqi force improvised explosive device cell members when the incident occurred.
The Soldiers were evacuated to Coalition medical facilities. The wounded Soldier is in stable condition.
The raid, which encompassed eight locations, netted 22 individuals. One was killed in the operation. Four of the detainees are wanted suspects. The detainees were screened on location, twelve were transported to Multi National Forces detention facilities for further questioning and the others were released.
The Soldiers' names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
