COALITION FORCES RECOVER WEAPONS CACHES

KABUL, Afghanistan - Coalition forces recovered five weapons caches on Thursday.

The first weapons cache was located near Tarin Kowt containing two 107 rockets, one 82mm mortar, one mine, one RPG round, three cans of mortar fuses, one can of mine fuses and two 107mm rocket fuses.

The second weapons cache was located near Salerno containing three RPGs. Local national teenagers relayed the location of the RPGs to Coalition forces.

The third weapons cache was located near Waza Khwa containing 13 boxes of 14.5 machine gun ammo, one power amplifier, two FM radios, one power amp for each FM radio, four additional radios, one short wave radio set, 220 volt cable, one 20" antenna, two WWII man pack radios with hand microphones, one discomix 8-840 powered amplifier and a graphic equalizer.

The fourth weapons cache was located near Ghazni containing 6,600 boxes of 14.5mm rounds and 5,700 boxes of 12.7mm rounds.

The fifth weapons cache was located near Orgun-e containing 11 107mm rockets, one RPG launcher and one recoilless rifle.

Coalition forces have secured the weapons caches and will destroy.
