Marines Seize Weapons Caches
Camp Blue Diamond, Iraq - Marines from the 1st Marine Division of the I Marine Expeditionary Force seized several weapons caches in and near the city of Al Amirya during clearing operations yesterday.
The 1st Marine Division will conduct a controlled detonation in order to destroy the weapons and munitions.
The weapons caches consisted of the following:
(51) 60mm Mortars
(25) 82mm Mortars
(1) 82mm Base Plate
(5) 14.5mm Barrels
(46) 120mm Mortars
(1) 120mm Base Plate
(8) 250lbs Bombs
(140) Bangalore-style Torpedoes
(3) 122mm Rockets
(6) 122mm War Heads
(3,475) 14.5mm rounds
(5) 120mm Rocket Launchers
(70) Grenade Fuses
3,000 ft. of Copper Wire
(100) 82mm Mortar Fuses
(30) RPG Rounds
(7) RPG Launchers
(1) RPK Machine Gun
(5) AK-47s
(3) Dragunov Sniper Rifles
