17 Iraqi civilians killed, 13 wounded near Tikrit
Tikrit, Iraq -- Seventeen Iraqi civilians were killed and 13 others were wounded when anti-Iraqi forces attacked them as they were going to work near Tikrit on Dec. 5 at about 8:30 a.m. Anti-Iraqi Forces in two vehicles opened fire on civilian buses that had stopped to let the workers off.
Iraqi National Guard and 1st Infantry Division Soldiers secured the site of the attack, and evacuated the civilians to the Tikrit hospital. The incident is under investigation.
