Russia, India agree on military interaction in Central Asia

New Delhi, Dec 4, Itar-Tass/ACSNA/IRNA -- A Russian military delegation source in the Indian capital told Itar-Tass on Saturday that Russia and India had agreed on the possibility of military interaction in Central Asia, including Tajikistan. The source clarified that India was currently building a runway at a military airfield outside the Tajik capital of Dushanbe. He also recalled that Russia has a military base in Tajikistan. "We agreed that we would coordinate our actions closely in the military sphere," the source went on to say. He also noted that Russia didn`t regard India as a rival and wouldn`t be opposed to India`s hypothetical presence in Central Asia. /2322/1432
