Iraqi Police foil AIF attack
TIKRIT, Iraq -- Eight Iraqi police were wounded during different attacks on two police stations in Baqubah today by terrorists determined to prevent a safe and secure environment for the people of that city.
In the two incidents, anti-Iraqi forces attacked the Mufrek and Buritz police stations between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. In each case, Iraqi Police fended off the AIF and maintained control of the stations.
The Joint Coordination Center responded to the attacks, coordinating IPS and Multi-National Forces to secure the area. The 1st Infantry Division dispatched quick reaction forces to assist. There were no MNF casualties and Iraqi police maintain control of the city.
