
ATK Receives First $5.5 Million for a Facility Modernization Project at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant
Modernization Project Enables Increased Capacity

Minneapolis, November 4, 2004 – ATK (NYSE: ATK) has received a $5.5 million contract from the U.S. Army Field Support Command, Rock Island, Ill., to begin additional modernization efforts at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, Independence, Mo.
The facility modernization project provides the foundation for strengthening critical U.S. domestic small-caliber ammunition industrial capability by improving capacity, efficiency and product quality. Scheduled for completion in September 2006, the Lake City modernization project will have a lasting positive impact on the readiness of our Armed Forces.
ATK Lake City Ammunition is the largest provider of small-caliber ammunition to the Department of Defense and is on track to deliver 1.2 billion rounds of ammunition in 2004.
