General Dynamics Awarded $3.8 Million Order to Upgrade Telecommunication Systems at U.S. Army Installations in Alaska

NEEDHAM, Mass. – General Dynamics Network Systems has been awarded a $3.8 million delivery order to upgrade and expand the telecommunications voice networks at Fort Richardson, Fort Wainwright, and Fort Greely, Alaska, under the U.S. Army's Long Term Life Cycle Support (LTLCS) Contract. General Dynamics Network Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).

Under this order General Dynamics will engineer, furnish, install, and test voice-switching upgrades. These upgrades include telephone switch expansions, a telephone management system, and installation of Enhanced 911 (E911) service.

General Dynamics has been engineering, installing and upgrading telecommunications networks and infrastructure at U.S. military bases worldwide for more than 30 years. The company recently completed infrastructure work in Kuwait and is upgrading the voice switches and installing data networks throughout Korea. General Dynamics is also upgrading and expanding the communications voice network at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Ga., one of the Department of Defense’s premier training centers for military communications and information technology.
