IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 17, 2004

DoD Identifies Army Casualties

     The Department of Defense announced today the death of three soldiers supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

     They died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their patrol vehicle on Oct. 12.  The soldiers were assigned to the Army's 20th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

     Capt. Dennis L. Pintor, 30, of Lima, Ohio, died on Oct. 12.

     Spc. Michael S. Weger, 30, of Rochester, N.Y., died on Oct. 12.

     Spc. Jaime Moreno, 28, of Round Lake Beach, Ill., died on Oct. 13 of injuries sustained on Oct. 12.
