MNF-I strikes Abu Musab al-Zaraqwi sites in Fallujah
Fallujah, Iraq - Multi-National Force-Iraq conducted two more strikes early this morning against known Abu Musab al-Zarqawi command and control sites.
The strikes occurred at 2:38 a.m.
Located in central Fallujah, the two sites were being used by senior Zarqawi terrorist leaders as planning centers for terrorist operations.
Additionally, the terrorists used the sites to hold meetings, house personnel and weapons, and as a staging base for launching terrorist attacks. Intelligence sources further reported that the terrorists had posted security and had emplaced fortifications on the sites. These successful strikes are the latest in a series of strikes since yesterday targeting the Zarqawi network.
Since approximately 1 p.m. Thursday, Multi-National forces have destroyed a key planning center, a weapons transload and storage facility, two safe houses, a terrorist meeting site and several illegal checkpoints used by the Zarqawi network.
