BAE SYSTEMS Selected As Prime Contractor To Provide F-16 Product Line Support

13 Oct 2004

The U.S. Air Force has selected BAE Systems to be the prime contractor for four F-16 flightline programs.

The Support Equipment Sustainment (SES) contract, awarded by the Department of Defense on Sept. 8, calls for support of the Air Forces F-16 Stores System Testers (SST), Enhanced Diagnostic Aid (EDNA), Viper Memory Loader Verifier (Viper-MLV) and Flight Line Stores Management System (SMS) testers - all produced by BAE Systems Information & Electronic Warfare Systems in Nashua, N.H.

The Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract gives the Air Force flexibility in ordering needed support equipment during increased operations. Support includes spares and repairs, logistic support, hardware and software engineering and production needed for F-16 flightline systems. The contract is capped at $175 million, but BAE Systems officials expect the Air Force will probably order about $10 million a year of support under the contract vehicle through 2009.

For 40 years, weve provided the full spectrum of lifetime support solutions to solve a variety of customer needs including the F-16. Well continue to provide the best technical, software, hardware and support solutions to meet the F-16 war fighters requirements, said Bob Donahue, BAE Systems F-16 product line director.

Work will be performed in Merrimack, N.H., and Ft. Worth, Texas. Ogden Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is the contracting activity.
