General Dynamics Chosen for $9 Billion Air Force Information Technology Contract

NETCENTS Contract Provides Network-Centric Information Technology Solutions

NEEDHAM, Mass. – The U.S. Air Force has awarded a General Dynamics Network Systems-led team a contract to provide information technology, networking and voice, video and data communications products and services in support of the Air Force's global information requirements. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract has a three-year base period and two, one-year options; the program has a maximum potential value of $9 billion. General Dynamics Network Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).

Under the Network-Centric Solutions, (NETCENTS) contract, General Dynamics and its partners will offer system integration solutions and services enabling the enhancement of Air Force data networks, telephony, security, and information technology. Additionally, nearly 80,000 commercial-off-the-shelf information technology (IT) products will be available.

The General Dynamics team has been the provider of critical Air Force communications around the globe, including voice switching system installations in Korea, Combat Information Transport System (CITS) upgrades in Turkey, infrastructure support in Bosnia and Iraq and more. For decades General Dynamics has installed Air Force voice and data communications infrastructure, and it is currently providing IT solutions to the Air Force under the CITS, Worldwide Integrated Digital Telecommunications Systems (WIDTS), Network Operations/Information Assurance (NOIA) and the Information Technology Services (ITS) programs.

NETCENTS was competitively awarded by the U.S Air Force Headquarters Standard Systems Group (HQ SSG) of the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), located at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex, in Montgomery, Alabama.
