- Iraqi Forces Find Weapons in Sadr's Office Near Shrine AFPS 11 Sep 2004 -- Iraqi police and the Iraqi Intervention Force found hundreds of illegal weapons hidden in secret rooms in the Najaf office of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Sept. 9, according to a statement released by Multinational Force Iraq today on behalf of Iraq's interior ministry.
- US repositions more fighter jets from Germany to Iraq: DPA IRNA 11 Sep 2004 -- The US military has relocated more fighter jets, among them at least a dozen A-10 bombers, from its air force base in Spangdahlem in Germany to Iraq, DPA reported Saturday.
- IRAQ OFFENSIVE VOA 11 Sep 2004 -- A senior Iraqi official has announced a new nationwide offensive against insurgents. The declaration comes as a bomb was detonated outside the U.S. consulate in the southern city of Basra, killing at least one.

- AFGHANISTAN POLITICS VOA 11 Sep 2004 -- Afghanistan's interim President Hamid Karzai has removed two provincial governors - including a powerful regional warlord - in a bid to consolidate the central government's authority. The move comes less than a month before landmark presidential elections on October 9th.

- CONGO/FIGHTING VOA 11 Sep 2004 -- Congolese government forces have launched fresh offensive against rebels still controlling large parts of the east of the country. There are no figures for casualties, but the United Nations says one town has been retaken and they army says it will continue until a dissident army officer is neutralized.
- RUSSIA / PROBE VOA 11 Sep 2004 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin reversed an earlier stand and has agreed to allow the upper house of Parliament to investigate the recent hostage-taking attack on a school in southern Russia. Close to 340 hostages died in the siege, almost half of them school-children.
