US Strikes Insurgent Target in Fallujah

The U.S. military says an American warplane has destroyed an anti-aircraft gun belonging to insurgents in the restive city of Fallujah.
A military official, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Johnson, said insurgents used the weapon system to fire on a U.S. military aircraft. It was not known if there were any casualties among the insurgents during the missile strike.
In a separate development, 12 American soldiers were wounded in three separate grenade attacks in central Baghdad. Eight suspects have been detained.
In the northern city of Mosul, a car bomb wounded at least 10 Iraqi civilians and one U.S. soldier.
And in northeastern Iraq, U.S. Marines and the Iraqi National Guard uncovered a large weapons and ammunitions cache and arrested five suspects.
