Polish soldier killed, 8 wounded in IED attack
Camp Babylon, Iraq - One Polish soldier was killed and eight others were wounded in an improvised-explosive-device attack on their patrol northeast of Madlul at 9:45 a.m. July 29.
The wounded soldiers were evacuated by air to military medical facilities in Karbala and Baghdad. They are listed in stable condition.
The IED exploded on the road as the patrol passed it.
A quick reaction force and an explosive ordnance disposal team were dispatched to the area.
