FIRST INFANTRY DIVISION SOLDIER DIES OF WOUNDS RECEIVED IN ACTION
TIKRIT, Iraq - One 1st Infantry Division Soldier died of wounds he received when a Multi-National Force patrol came under small arms fire from anti-Iraqi forces near Hawija around 1 p.m. July 29.
The Soldier was evacuated to a military medical facility, where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the deceased Soldier is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
The incident is under investigation.
