
General Dynamics Awarded $62 Million in Multiple Contracts
FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) announced today that three of its business units – General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, St. Petersburg, Fla.; General Dynamics Network Systems, Needham, Mass.; and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Arlington, Va. – have been awarded Department of Defense contracts worth more than $62 million.
General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems was awarded a $50 million modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for 10,040 KE-W A2 120mm cartridges by the U.S. Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. Work will be performed in Red Lion, Pa. (62 percent); St. Petersburg (18 percent); Radford, Va. (9 percent); Middletown, Iowa (6 percent); and other locations in the United States, and is expected to be complete by Dec. 2005. General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, www.gd-ots.com, is a leading developer and manufacturer of ammunition systems for the armed forces of the United States and its allies.
General Dynamics Network Systems was awarded a $6 million firm-fixed-price contract to provide services and materials necessary for on-site preventive and remedial maintenance for intelligence information command and control equipment and enhancements. The contract was awarded by the Headquarters Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga. Work will be accomplished at more than 500 sites worldwide and completed by June 2005. General Dynamics Network Systems, www.gd-ns.com, has been designing and building complex telecommunications networks for nearly 50 years and its more than 5,800 skilled technical personnel provide design, integration, installation and support services for enterprise, wireless and space-based networks.
General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems was awarded a $6 million cost-plus fixed-fee contract modification to conduct design and trade studies, risk management, laboratory testing, demonstrations and other services to refine and assess alternative symbiotic communications system concepts. The contract was awarded by the Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, N.Y., and work is expected to be completed by Feb. 2005. The contract was awarded in the name of Veridian Systems Division, which was acquired by General Dynamics in Aug. 2003.
