IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
New Delhi, June 14, IRNA -- India has provided two advanced light helicopters to Nepal, a week after External Affairs Minister K. Natwar Singh held high-level talks with Nepalese officials on a wide range of bilateral matters, including the Maoist problem. According to an Indian media report quoting high-level security sources at Kathmandu, the two choppers named `Dhruva` landed at Tribhuvan International Airport in the Nepalese capital on Sunday. Singh, during his two-day visit to Nepal last week, offered cooperation in dealing with the Maoist violence and help the Nepalese Army strengthen security in the Himalayan Kingdom. During the meetings Singh had with Nepalese officials, the two sides agreed on sharing intelligence information and forging greater cooperation and coordination in tackling the Maoist problem. 2160/2321/1432
