Israel Aircraft Industries' Lahav Division to Display Guardium Perimeter Security System at Eurosatory Exhibition

Jun 14, 2004

Eurosatory - Paris, June 2004 - Israel Aircraft Industries' Lahav Division is to display the new GuardiumPerimeter Security System at Eurosatory exhibition in Paris. Guardium is a first responder designed to improve response times to security breaches. It deploys an autonomous unmanned ground security vehicle (USV), M-Guard, to monitor perimeter fencing.

M-Guard operates in the perimeter fence area and navigates varied terrain using cameras and sensors to provide up-to-the-minute security status reports. If breaches in perimeter security are detected M-Guard immediately reacts to isolate, contain, and control intruders until backup support arrives. The system is equipped with voice communication capabilities to stall with intruders until backup support arrives.

The Guardium security solution significantly minimizes the manpower required for continuous monitoring, reduces security personnel exposure to physical danger and improves incident response times. Applications include protection of transportation facilities, government, military and para-military installations and industrial and energy assets.

Key Applications:

* Transportation facilities: airports, ports, railroads
* Military and government installations and assets
* Border protection
* Energy assets: Nuclear and electric power plants, oil and gas refineries and pipelines
* Commercial property: industrial and agricultural facilities
