ABOARD USS VANDEGRIFT -- USS Vandegrift (FFG 48) Arrived off the coast of Dili, Timor-Leste, on May 19 for a scheduled port visit.

The visit is part of the United States' ongoing commitment to this newly established democratic country.

Vandegrift, commanded by Cmdr. Richard Rodgers, of Moscow, Idaho, is permanently forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. The 4,100-ton Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate is on a routine deployment in the Seventh Fleet area of responsibility.
