Kirkuk Council Member Killed in Car Accident
TIKRIT, Iraq - A Kirkuk City Council member, Mustafa Kamal Yaycili, and another Iraqi civilian were killed, and four Task Force Danger Soldiers and two civilians were injured in a vehicle accident near Tuz at about 12:50 p.m., May 14.
The injured civilians were evacuated to a Kirkuk hospital. Their conditions were unknown. The injured Soldiers were treated for minor injuries and returned to duty.
Yaycili, a prominent Iraqi community leader, was a passenger in a civilian vehicle, which crossed a highway median and struck a Humvee driven by the Soldiers.
Iraqi police are investigating the accident.
