
U.S. NAVY CHOOSES LOCKHEED MARTIN TO PROVIDE WARFARE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT CAPABILITIES TO SUPPORT AIRCRAFT CARRIERS AND OTHER NAV
MARLTON, NJ, May 13th, 2004 -- The US Navy has chosen Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) to provide aircraft carrier warfare system ship integration engineering and support capabilities to promote the Navy's vision of deploying credible combat power anywhere in the world.
Lockheed Martin is the prime on this bid, which is a one-year contract with four one-year options. The Lockheed Martin Warfare Systems Team has been performing portions of this work for the Navy for over fifteen years. The scope of work on the contract is to provide engineering and technical support for the integration of aircraft carrier warfare systems. The contract also calls for the ability to perform this work on other platforms as required. The 5-year contract is valued at $30 million.
The Lockheed Martin Warfare Systems team comprises Anteon, ESN, Gryphon Technologies, JJMA and Titan, the leaders in the field of warfare systems engineering and technical support. As part of the Warfare Systems team, Lockheed Martin will provide C4I, program management and engineering and technical support services. Anteon and JJMA bring topside design and engineering support services; Gryphon Technologies offers navigation systems support; ESN supports exterior communications requirements and Titan provides comprehensive C4I support capabilities.
The contract is to be executed out of Dahlgren, VA, where Lockheed Martin already has a substantial engineering and technical support team in place supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center? Dahlgren Division, the end customer for this contract. Lockheed Martin plans to relocate many of the personnel supporting the current aircraft carrier warfare systems contract from Washington DC to Dahlgren.
